It’s a Date! is a registered home-based food production business in Fairfax County, VA that adheres to Cottage Food Laws.

Dates are packed with nutritional benefits, including a good source of fiber which supports gut health and helps us feel full longer, making them a smart snack choice. It’s a Date! combines quality dates with other simple ingredients to deliver these benefits in delectable flavors perfect for gifting or snacking.

Several of our flavors include naturally gluten free ingredients. However, all of our dates are prepared in a kitchen that is also used to prepare meals that contain wheat and gluten. With this in mind, we recommend you read the ingredients listed on our menu and decide if they meet your dietary needs.

Most of our flavors include nuts and/or chocolate. Please keep in mind that all orders are prepared in a kitchen that is also used to prepare meals with other potential allergens such as soy, egg, dairy, shellfish, etc.

Our dates are made weekly in small batches to maximize freshness. We recommend they are refrigerated within 5-10 days of the date noted on the box and best enjoyed within 14 days.

Boxes are available in two sizes. The Three Date Rule box includes 3 dates and the Signature Box includes 5 dates (our best value!). We find that 1-2 dates per person is a good snack-size serving.

In order to balance freshness with demand, a limited batch is handcrafted weekly and available until it is sold out. Keep an eye on our website and social media for the weekly flavor!

Use the form on our Order page to let us know what you would like to order. You’ll receive a confirmation email and invoice within 1-2 days.

Custom orders of large quantities (more than 5 boxes) or multiple flavors are accepted and require two weeks advance notice and a minimum purchase of $75.

A fresh batch is typically made early in the week and available for pickup Thursday-Sunday. However, this is not set in stone so please indicate your preferred pick-up date on the order form and we will work with you to ensure your dates are both fresh and ready closest to when you need them!

Select your preferred pick up date when filling out the order form. Once your order is confirmed, we will work with you directly to schedule a pick up time and location.

A request to cancel an order must be received at least 5 days before the agreed upon pick up date to receive a full refund. No refunds will be given for orders cancelled with less than 5 days notice.

We are a small one-woman (and mom!) shop at the moment providing orders directly to customers. As our customer base grows, we may expand to local farmer’s markets or other permitted venues.
